I love nature and it is very important to me to have a strong environmental ethos in my business practice.  Here are some of the things I currently do. I'm open to any ideas on how to improve this.

Trees
I make a monthly contribution to Offset Earth who plant trees and support carbon offsetting projects. I pay for 12 trees to be planted every month and, at time of writing, I have 48 trees in my forest.
I have just opened a corporate grove with Trees For Life, a conservation charity dedicated to rewilding the Scottish Highlands. They have established 44 tree planting sites and planted nearly two million trees so far. For every wedding or full-price family or newborn shoot I do I will plant a tree dedicated to that couple or family or baby, and they will receive an e-certificate.  You can visit my grove here
Travel
Wherever possible I use public transport to travel to weddings and shoots. I have a studio which is 12 minutes walk from my house, so that's what I do - walk!
When I fly I ensure I calculate my carbon footprint and offset accordingly. Easyjet now actually do the offsetting themselves which is makes it super-easy.

I will no longer be travelling for in-person client meetings but am happy to do a video call via Skype.
Paper and 'things'
My business is completely paperless/digital except for business cards and leaflets. However I do ensure I use recyled paper options such as those provided by Moo or The Sustainable Print Co.

Any paper I receive to my business is recyled once it is no longer needed, and I repurpose packaging for anything I need to send out.
I do offer albums and prints as paid extras but will only use professional suppliers who can demonstrate that they share my principles and operate their own businesses in an eco-friendly way.

I also no longer offer a USB as standard, but provide a digital gallery instead.

Energy
My office and technology is powered by Pure Planet, a company that do 100% renewable electricity and 100% carbon offset gas.
Odds and sods
I always ensure I have a refillable water bottle or coffee cup with me.
I use an app called Forest which helps me stay focussed and gets trees planted.
